Step into Ribera del Duero territory in Burgos. Revel in the tastes and quality of the wine and explore the main strategic locations on this route: Soria, Lerma and Tordesillas.
The route includes the following Paradores:
Soria: First day
The quality of the wine from the region covering four provinces " Soria, Burgos, Segovia and Valladolid " sits alongside the many tourist attractions, rich artistry and culture in each of the towns located there. Following an east to west route and starting in the province of Soria, San Esteban de Gormaz stands out, where the river flows and irrigates fertile plains and water meadows. The town of Atauta lies nearby, being famous for housing a series of the best preserved traditional bodegas along the Ribera del Duero Route. Those preserved in Langa de Duero - declared an Historical-Artistic Heritage site - are no less appealing. En route, the priceless beauty of the parish church at Castillejo de Robleda, with its castle full of winepresses, will stun visitors.
Lerma: Second day
La Vid Monastery takes visitors into Ribera del Duero territory in Burgos. The over 30-metre belfry is the first image visitors see of the monastery. Before heading into Aranda de Duero, it's worth visiting the town of Peñaranda de Duero, a strategic point along the Duero welcoming visitors with its mighty castle, the Palace of Los Zúñiga y Avellaneda, and the Collegiate Church. The headquarters for the Consejo Regulador de la Donomiación de Origen Ribera del Duero, a regulatory council for wine bearing the Ribera del Duero DO label, is located in Roa. This city is where the ebbs and flows of history meant a large number of the palaces and churches disappeared - a symbol of a bygone splendour. The former collegiate church of Santa María and the old San Sebastián church are well worth a visit.
Tordesillas: Third day
At the town of Peñafiel in the province of Valladolid, the river becomes riparian and fast-flowing, widening its farming borders. The town's identification with wine may be seen in the popular architecture and the huge castle where the Provincial Wine Museum is housed today. The Cotarro de San Pedro, a beautiful hill spotted with bodegas, is a sign you are entering Pesquera de Duero - a town linked to wine from olden times. Valbuena de Duero houses the prestigious Vega Sicilia winemaker, amongst others, and the monastery of Santa María de Valbuena, marking the last stage on the route through Valladolid terrain. With the Duero lapping its plains, the outstandingly beautiful monastery is the permanent base for the Fundación de las Edades del Hombre. This route includes the natural area of Las Hoces del Río Riaza set between the municipal areas of Montejo de la Vega de la Serrezuela, Maderuelo and Valdevacas de Montejo.

Route with bed and breakfast (full route price. VAT included):

Route with half board (full route price. VAT included):
Per person in standard double room: 234 euros.

Three nights stay in a standard double room in selected board type (bed and breakfast or half board).
The route does not include:
Transport is down to guest/s as are trips or tickets to monuments and places of interest (information provided is merely a guide).

Starting on Sunday and finishing on Wednesday.
Dates of the stay and establishments may not be changed or modified en route.
The Route and rates are not valid for groups.
Credit card required for booking guarantee.
Validity dates:
The route is valid for routes starting between 3 January and 11 July 2010 (inclusive). Routes starting between 22 August and 26 December 2010 (inclusive).
PLEASE NOTE: Once en route, failure to check-in at any Parador on the Route without prior notice leads to automatic cancellation at that Parador as well as the others on the Route.
Cancellations and no-shows:
Cancellations made less than 5 working days prior to the date of arrival will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first night's stay on the route.
Cancellations made during the course of the route will not be entitled to any refund of the price paid.
No-shows: Failure to keep your reservation for the first night of the route will result in cancellation of the entire route, and will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first night's stay.
